Christmas 2014

The kids had to go to school on the 23rd.
Seriously who goes to school on the December 23rd??
It was red and green day.
The school was bustling with excitement!  The teachers sang Christmas carols to the students as they arrived to school.  Very cool.
Jake was a student of the month for December.  Go J!!!
He was picked by his teacher for his caring attributes.
Sure love my student of the month.
Every Christmas Eve morning the kids call Mimi and open their presents from her.  Those presents keep them busy while we wait for Bryan to get home from work.
We went to church at noon on Christmas Eve and Brylee sat by her friend Ad.
Bryan finally got home from work wearing his ugly Christmas tie which comes out every Christmas Eve for work.  Next up Gingerbread houses.
 Brylee made a garage.
Jake made a lemon farm and Brett ate candy.
Finally after dinner it was time to open presents.  They only asked 1400 times when they could open presents.
Funny how they will pose for any picture if they know as soon as I am done taking pictures they get to open presents.
Jake even agreed to kiss his sister!
Even our elf Jo got a present.
Brylee spent the rest of the night making master pieces.
And yes it's true even though we live way up North and our neighbor is Canada we did not have white Christmas.  The picture of rain is accurate.
Christmas morning they found their stocking filled and had one more present.
Lucky us Brett shot us several times throughout the day with his new nerf gun from Ashleigh.
Merry Christmas!!!
We had a quiet Christmas missing our families but oh so grateful for our Savior who chose to born as a baby.
We decided not to move during Christmas but now I look around and tell myself..."self get off this computer and pack some boxes."  Moving day is creeping up on us.  The house is built just sitting there waiting for us.   I have never had to pack and move,  the packing and moving company fairies usually show up.  I tell ya if we never have to move again that would be a beautiful thing!

Miss. Sensitive and Mr. Hero

Miss. Brylee is a super duper times 1000 sensitive girl! Who happens to have the most loving, affectionate, doting, understanding, compassionate, warmhearted (the list could go on forever describing Brett...but you get the picture) big brother in the whole world.
You see if Brylee's morning is not perfect, full of unicorns and rainbows she falls apart and melts into a puddle of tears.
Part of not having a rainbow and unicorn kind morning is if she does not have her clothes picked out the night before.  I can stand there forever and ever the night before but neither one of us can find that perfect outfit.  Which means the night ends in tears.
Which of course breaks Brett's heart.
Now every night Brett stands in front of her closet pulling out outfits.  He has the patience of a saint.  He will pull out 25 outfits until she finds just the right one.
Brett tells me it is easy.  He says first you start with dresses, followed by jeans and leggings.  After that you break it down into color groups.
After that perfect outfit is hanging on her door he tucks her in.  Which is a process itself.
I tell ya she is the luckiest sister in the entire world!!!!!

Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Sandy

Look who showed up at my house!
Grandma and Grandpa stayed in Brylee's very pink room.
They brought the kids big M&M's.
Brylee is absolutely in love with her Great Aunt Sandy!  She slept on the floor next to her last night just to be close.
Brylee loved the color of her auntie's lipstick.  She is now walking around with bright pink lips.  Aunt Sandy even let her keep that beautiful bright lipstick.
Us girls went on a quick IKEA trip.
Grandpa thinks he missed his calling and should of been a Kindergarten teacher.  Brylee and Grandpa designed a beautiful flower.
We are going to frame their art and hang it in her room.
Brett and his Great Grandpa
Brett and his Great Grandma
Grandpa let me pick out some of his hand carved kitchen utensils.  I will use them all the time!
And most important Grandma gave me a lesson on how to make her famous Caramel Rolls!
She is such a goof-ball!
It was a wonderful couple of days that I will treasure forever!!!
Until next time......

Mims

When Brett was a babe he called her Grammy....
then he shortened it to Mimi.
Jake has shortened it to Mims...and I think it may stick.
This is Mims with her clone.
They are two of a kind!
Mims came up right before school started and stayed for one and half weeks.
There were many games of Monopoly played.
Lessons on how to play jacks.
Barbies in the morning before school.
Shopping for Barbie accessories.
Fun around the dinner table.
Time flew by way too fast and memories were made.
 Until next time......
