October 2nd, 2013
We started the day way before the sunrise.
Jake tried to wake up by splashing cold water on his face.
The darn camera flash was hard on the eyes at such an early hour of the morning.
But soon he started to wake up.
The tradition lives on....$100 from mom and dad.
Jake's new passion is space.
MiMi and Grandpa Jim knew exactly what to send.
Oh my Jake was thrilled with the money from Grandma and Grandpa.
Toasting with some blood orange sparkling juice.
Jake's favorite fruit is a blood orange.
Next stop breakfast at McDonalds. The total for breakfast was $9. Perfect for a 9th birthday.
Pop is a perfect choice for breakfast when it's your birthday.
Good choice for breakfast J!
Headed to school. The birthday boy of course wanted a ride to school instead of riding the bus.
I delivered his request of Subway for lunch to school.
It happened to be "new kids on the block" lunch. The new kids get to eat lunch with the counselor and then we had a super secret tour of the school. We explored the halls and opened doors that were secret.
Brett and I picked up Jake from school because who wants to ride the bus home when it's your birthday. We headed right to Target to start spending all that money.
Grandpa Wayne sent $20 and Jake found the perfect present to buy.
Time to check out.
The birthday boy then said..."take me to Barnes and Noble."
Dad snuck away from work.....
and met us at Pizza Ranch for dinner.
Next the birthday boy wanted Cherry Berry.
And what the birthday boy wants the birthday boy gets!
The shopping spree lined up.
It was hard for him to spend money.
He must take after me.
But he got the hang of it and found some cool stuff.
Cake time.
He saved room for one tiny bite of cake.
He told me he would tell me what he wished later.
Be still my heart....he wished everyone would know Jesus.
Happy Birthday to my spirited, intense loving 9 year old!
I love you more than you will ever know.
