I had just put Jake and Brylee on the bus and was outside talking to a neighbor when Bryan came out said lets go they think Brett broke his wrist in gym class.
I ran inside to grab Advil and a bottle of water and we rushed to the school.
I picked up a boy in so much pain I thought I may cry.
We have not lived here long enough to even know where to go. The neighbor said call the clinic.
We checked into the clinic but then they sent us to a hospital.
Waiting and waiting for the ER doctor.
Not a broken wrist. A left distal radius fracture.
Poor guy!
They set his arm and put him in a sling until the swelling subsided.
Next stop lunch.
The X-rays 5 days later shows his bone is angled.
The nurse puts the cast on....
and the doctor pushes on the cast to try to force the bone to straighten out.
Ouch!!!
He picked out a blue cast and it now has many autographs on it.
Grandma Sue sent a "hang in there" package!
Next week Brett will have another X-ray to see if he will avoid surgery.
What a mess! All from running and slipping on the wet grass and falling backwards in gym class.
