Jacob's Commanding Officer

Oct 17th 2012
The time was 8:30 pm on a Wednesday night.
 Way past Jake's bedtime.
Usually I rush him off to bed after Awana.
But on this night I did not.
And for this I will be forever grateful to God for calming me enough to listen.
He had something on his heart.
He talked about school and his teacher.....I listened.
He had questions about Israel....We researched.
He talked about Jesus....I listened.
It was on this very night that he made the most important decision he will ever make!
He crawled up on my lap and told me he wanted Jesus in his life.
Of course this took my breath away.
I thought my heart would pound out of my chest.
I have never pushed this decision on him.
We talk about Jesus all the time.
But I wanted this to be his own decision.
He told me he had been thinking about this decision since he was 4.
He told me he wanted Jesus to be his Commanding Officer.
"Do you want to pray J?".
He shook his head yes.
I can't imagine loving Jacob anymore than I do but I know God does.
God...."I pray all Jacob's roads in life...good and bad lead right to your arms."
The night will be forever etched in my heart.

PTL! Nothing more special to a mom than to lead her child to accepting Jesus as his Savior. SO happy for you and Jacob. Welcome to the family, Jake!
