The best kind of Camping....

No really the best kind, just the right temperature, no bugs, no outdoors. If you know me, then you know this is the only camping I do. Indoor camping!! Jacob was out cold in 2 minutes flat, Brett watched Shrek 3, and Brylee and I were awake until midnight!

Flat Brett

Meet Flat Brett. He traveled all the way to Arizona to spend some time with his Great Grandma and Grandpa. Looks like Flat Brett spent alot of time outdoors. All the students in Brett's class sent their flat selves all around the country. Then they all got to see all the wonderful places the flat people traveled. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking such good care of Flat Brett!

Oh. No.

Brett came into the kitchen after school and said "Mom is it okay that I sold my SpiderMan comic to Josh at school today?" I say "Let's not do that anymore, okay Brett." And then ask why did Josh have money at school? "Because he brought his coin collection to school." This is not good. Hope we can find the coins that belong to Josh, Brett put them in in his bank.
Ahhhh, a boy after my heart. Making deals at school!

What we do for our kids.....

See the number on Jacob's hand, that is the time I pulled into WestLink Christian Church to enroll Jacob for preschool next year and that is 6 am not pm. That means I woke up at 5 in the morning all for the love of Jake. Good news I was first so that meant I got to enroll first. Bad news I first by about 45 minutes. So the very nice janitor and I got to know each other. They started enrollment at 8 and by 7:15 all the classes were full. Geez talk about competition! And I do consider myself the winner!!!!!......I think I need a nap.

Tuesday.

This blog was passed on to me recently and my heart is breaking.

Please click on the picture above and be in serious prayer for this sweet baby girl and her precious family. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain...
From their blog:
My deepest fears were confirmed. Tomorrow we take our precious daughter home. Her cancer doubled in size in less than a week proving once and for all that it is horribly aggressive and no longer chemo sensitive. We have no idea how to do this but we have no doubt we will be cared for every step of the way. This is all I have in me. Please pray for peace for our children, our parents and our siblings. Tuesday, full of grace, you are our so very loved.

Jake and his lips

Notice the funny thing Jake does with lips. If you even mention his lips the kid keeps his lips puckered all day. Combine that with dry chapped lips and we have a bad situation. You say, give the kid some chapstick. That makes the situation even worse because then he is even more aware of his lips. Pretty sure his first kiss will be a disaster and that is not a bad thing!

All for the love of Brylee

For the last couple of days Jacob has been "taking care" of Brylee. Reading her books, wiping her mouth, getting her dressed, doing her hair, lots of hugs, making sure her every need is met. As of now Brylee does not allow me to do much for her, she yells "Jakey do it" and Jake comes running. I would like to freeze time, I know this will not last forever. There are only two issues I have with this, she wants Jacob to wipe her bottom and Jacob wakes her up way too early in the morning. I say you got her up, she's all yours! Awwww, they melt my heart.

Today is the first day......

that I did not look at my sweet girl in the morning and say to myself "oh goodness what happened." I am kinda of, sort of getting used the the hair. Hair does grow!

Out of the Archives June 2007

Where has the time gone? Brylee 8 months old and Brett 6 years old.

Good thing for the color Pink, Princess Shoes and Headbands!

Brylee was a trooper when it came time to cut off the rest of her hair. Of course it helps when your Aunt Talli holds you. Poor thing was looking at the hair style book for men and most of the men had more hair than her. Notice she did wear her purple princess shoes and she is in all pink. With all the princess hair gone she sure looks like her big brother Brett. But don't worry she still likeys it and I think she is adorable with or without hair!

Oh. No. He. Did. Not. Oh no, he did!!!!!

This is a picture of Brylee's first hair cut by Grandma, notice her bangs are almost grown out. Oh how beautiful!
The second picture shows Brylee's second hair cut compliments of her big brother.
I say "go play in Brylee's room", that they did. Jake stuck her in her crib and found baby finger nail scissors????(note to self and others remove baby finger scissors from room) and started his magic. When he was done he came and asked if I would get Brylee out her her crib because he was done cutting her hair, I say"ex-squeeze me????!!!!! you mean combing her hair!!!!!!" "No Mommy I cut her hair, she looks pretty." Still in shock, I try to convince myself it's not that bad. Off to the shower, the rest of the hair falls out. Okay it is bad! I choose to laugh, not cry. Her Daddy on the otherhand is quite mad. I guess kids really do need supervision at all times. (mental note taken)

I walk in and she says "Jakey did it."

Took 2 years to grow, guess she will have hair at age 4.

Oh Jake I think you forgot one piece of hair!

After her shower, this is the final result. Brylee says, "I likey it."

Just one pile, I found the other pile when I laid her down for bed. Good news, I have enough hair for her baby book.

Jacob apologizing for cutting all of her princess hair off. He told me that from now on he promises to the let the hair place do it!
I am still choosing to laugh not cry, but it is kind of making me sick to my stomach, but don't tell the Princess, because she likeys it!

Archie, Archie, Archie

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing???.....Really she sits most of her days with her back arched, turning red because she is holding her breath, even when you hold her. When we put Archie in her car seat in the hospital to bring her home her little back arched, she continues to ride in her car seat like that still to this day. It is horrible to watch and there is nothing you can do to stop it. One good thing, I'm pretty sure that it will scare the boys off! Oh look, these pictures were taken just minutes before Jacob did his magic on her hair:(

Fun at the Park

I love days off school! We took two neighbor boys and headed to the park this afternoon and stopped to have Sonic slushes on the way home. Brylee of course wore her snow boots and if you could see her jeans you would see they are on backwards!

99 months old

Seriously isn't this a bit ridiculous I can tell you how many months old my kids are, still! Next time someone asks how old Brett is I think I will say just a little over 99 months. Yes on January 18th 2009 Brett turned 99 months old. Maybe we will have a party Feb. 18th for his 100 month birthday. This will be the 99th picture in his book. Not sure if I will ever be able to stop. I'm sure his wife will not mind when I stop by the 18th of ever month : )
Just in case you were wondering Jake is 51 months and Brylee is 27 months old!

Just a little tired!

Brylee was downstairs playing with a friend, I came down and found her sound asleep. The girl can sleep anywhere!

Daddy's Little Girl

Oh boy does this little girl have her Daddy wrapped around her little finger! All it takes is one look, one word, one dance and she melts his heart.

Basketball and Buzzers

Another season of basketball. Brett of course knows what is going on, Jacob played defense the whole game and was very concerned when players would fall down, and Brylee was not digging all the buzzers! Saturday morning fun.
