Our Mornings

Oh how I treasure the mornings spent at home with my girl before the school bus whisks her off to school. I know they are soon coming to an end. Next year she will be jumping on the bus early in morning with her brothers.

Preschool Fashion Accessory

The lastest fashion rage in Preschool is wearing a beautiful tiara. This day was almost ruined when the tiara came up missing right when it was time to go to school. But at the last minute the day was saved.
Once a week I spend the day in Brylee's class volunteering. As Brylee walked into class a very cute little boy exclaimed "Miss. G Brylee looks so beautiful today." Brylee grinned at the boy and hustled to find a sit.

The Princess

I found a "Brylee" shirt at a resell shop in town.
The girl on the shirt is "Our Princess"
Today the Princess and I had the discussion that wearing sandals on this brisk 20 degree weather may not be the best choice.
"But mom how else will my friends see my toe nail polish?"
We compromised she wore boots to school and is going to put on her sandals when she gets to school.
She is the Princess!

Twins

Brylee picked out this new school dress because her baby "Crystal Carol" could have a matching dress. She tried to go to school with Brylee but jumped out of her backpack at the last minute.
This was her second day of school. She jumped on the bus and asked if I would meet the bus at school...of course I did. She informed me that when she was a teenager that she would not need me to meet her at school!

Preschool Princess

Brylee is growing up on me. I have been an emotional wreck inside. I can probably count the number of hours that I have been kid free in the last 10 plus years and let me tell you when I got home the silence about killed me!
She goes to afternoon preschool and all morning she was gitty with excitement and kept saying "I'm so excited!" and let me know that she knew I was going to miss her! Yep she was right!
I was one of those crazy moms who followed the bus to school and convinced myself Brylee needed me to be at the school when she got off the bus. Her assistant teacher rides on the bus to help the kids. How great is that! They have seat-belts and all. I know Brylee was somewhat nervous but as soon as she saw a smiling face greeting her as she climbed the ginormous stairs of the bus she did not even look back. She loved school and wishes she could go on Saturday.

A Scavenger Hunt with Daddy.
Mrs. Taylor
You may be confused and think she is ready for the beach but the girl just likes to accessorize.

She started waiting on the porch for the bus 2 hours early.

I stopped following the bus when I realized the bus driver was not sure of her route and was backing the bus up in the neighborhood so I headed to school and joined the other over protective moms on the curb and waited in the rain for 15 minutes.
A big hill to climb.
and yes I followed her into the classroom! Tears shed by Brylee zero, me a few on the way to school!

Twas the Night Before School

Twas the night before School, when all through the house
Not a child was stirring, not even a mouse.
The backpacks were hung by the front door with care,
In hopes that the 1st day would with a cheer.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of school books and recess danced in their heads.
And this mama sat down to rest,
and decided this summer was the best!

And then, in a twinkling, I have decided to cherish
each and every stage of my three little ones.
As I drew in my head, all the memories of past.
Down the street the bus will soon shall appear fast.

Brett will dress in his new bow tie shirt and some new Nike Shox.
And my Jakey in his Captain American Shirt will look like a Fox.
My bundle of Joy that is named Brylee will wear her new dress and feel rad.
And they will look like smart kids, as they swing on their book bags.

They will spring on the bus and better give their Mom a wave.
And away they will go down the street toward the school looking brave.
And they will hear me exclaim, I love you and will miss you!
"Happy First Day of School, and to all a Great Day."
