Last Day of School

Sometimes I do not realize how fast they are growing until....
I see pictures like these.
This school year flew by at hyper speed.
Brylee and Jake got out of school two days before Brett this year.
Can't wait until this boy gets home from his last day of 7th grade!
Happy Summer!

Grand Guests

Every year the 1st grade at Brylee's school puts on a big show for their grand guests.
Auntie Talli and her Mimi were her "grand guests" for the day.
First they sang for their grand guests.
She looked over after ever song, smiled and shrugged her shoulders.  She was thrilled to have them there.  I was not supposed to be there but I broke the rules and stayed!
Next stop was to meet her wonderful teacher.
They each wrote Brylee a letter.

Brylee then took her grand guests on a school tour.
We happened to run into a handsome 3rd grader while on the tour.
Brylee brought them back to her classroom and gave them a grand tour.
She read them all of her sight words.
And by far her auntie and mimi drove the furthest to come to Grand Day.  Mimi flew from ND to KS and then they drove all they way to MN.
Only Brylee has the power to make a trip like that happen.  They were only able to stay for 36 hours.
Next stop was dance class.

I tell you these two are inseparable!
And the song that makes Brylee's heart sad because she always misses her grandmas and grandpas.  She says tears almost come when she sings it!
And the tears for sure came from this Grandma!
She has the best grandparents!

Superhero Teachers

Monday is the start of teacher appreciation week.
The theme is "Teachers are Superheros."
Can I get an amen?  Superhero would be an understatement.
Brylee and I stayed after school on Friday to decorate her teacher's door and left some superhero water bottles on the desks.
I asked every student why Mrs. Erbes was a superhero and wrote their answer on each circle.
Brylee answered...She has a good heart and reads us a book every morning.  First Graders are awesome and have humorous answers!
Oh my I love Mrs. Erbes!!!!  She is exactly who Brylee needed for a 1st grade teacher.  She is the definition of a superhero.  All that is missing is a cape. She allows Brylee to be her sensitive, sassy self and sends her home feeling confident and loved.  What more can you ask for?
Another parent decorated Mrs. Burditt's door.
Jake wrote Mrs. Burditt is amazing, kind and funny.  I concur!!!

We moved to a new state just a couple of weeks before school started.  I prayed and know that God walked before each child and placed the perfect teachers in their path.  For that I am forever grateful!!

First Grade Field Trip

We went to the Como Zoo in St. Paul.
I was put in charge of these four gorgeous ladies.  Who I had the pleasure of eating lunch with and walking around the zoo on a nice chilly spring day.
They were silly and....
goofy!
The last field trip I took to the zoo I possibly lost a crazy, male, 5th grader I was put in charge of.
I only panicked for about 45 minutes.  In my defense I should of been given a leash.
This field trip to the zoo was a breeze.  Probably due to the fact my group was all female.
Love spending time time with my Brylee girl!

Jake made Brylee a shopping bag outfit and was quite proud of it.
She seriously wore this silly thing on her head for days.
