The Morning Rush

Another morning to get ready for the bus in 10 minutes. Can he do it????
he made it with minutes to spare, got dressed, ate, bathroom and brushed his teeth in less than 10 minutues!
5 more days of school. Holy Cow....He will be in the 3rd grade....how is that possible???

Brett was Wondering......

if he could go to Summer School.....When I told him that it was for kids who needed a little extra help.....he pleaded with me....he begged....he promised he would try to learn 3rd grade stuff. Boy... he is bummed that he has had all A's this year, didn't miss a spelling word and reads at a High School Level..... because he really wants to go to Summer School :(

A Princess

Today at work Jacob heard a little boy call Brylee a baby. Geez that boy got an earful from Jake. He looked at the boy and said "My sister is not a Baby.....she is a Princess because Jesus believes in her."

If you talk bad about Jake's sister.....he will set you staight!!!!!!

and now for the other brother.....

Every week that Brett has all green days at school he gets to pick a treasure out of the Treasure Box. Today he brought home a Princess Coin Purse for Brylee and proceeded to tell me that he is going to get her the other Princess purse next week. Brylee's Brother's Rock!!!!!!

Field Day 2009

All of Mrs. Hagel's Bagels. Brett was kind of offended the beginning of the year that he was a Bagel. Now he embraces that he is a Bagel!

I missed it, I was at work :( Good thing Brett has an awesome Dad that took pictures for me!

Entrepreneur at 8

He did it again....the kid made more money at school selling things out of his desk. This time it was an eraser. Not bad for a days work!

The daily "school day" count down.....

Yesterday Brett went back to school after spring break. The count down begins right after the bus leaves. "Mom how many more until Brett comes home." And no I did not leave out the word "hour" from his sentence.

Flat Brett

Meet Flat Brett. He traveled all the way to Arizona to spend some time with his Great Grandma and Grandpa. Looks like Flat Brett spent alot of time outdoors. All the students in Brett's class sent their flat selves all around the country. Then they all got to see all the wonderful places the flat people traveled. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking such good care of Flat Brett!

Brett came into the kitchen after school and said "Mom is it okay that I sold my SpiderMan comic to Josh at school today?" I say "Let's not do that anymore, okay Brett." And then ask why did Josh have money at school? "Because he brought his coin collection to school." This is not good. Hope we can find the coins that belong to Josh, Brett put them in in his bank.
Ahhhh, a boy after my heart. Making deals at school!

Brett 2nd Grade Fall Party

We all had fun at Brett's fall party. Brylee found the princesses in the parade and Jacob found all the Star Wars guys. Brylee thinks Brett has some pretty neat things desk, Jake rocked out. (See video below) All the students left with parents. Not mine he had to ride the bus with his friends. Mr. Social. 3 days off from school. I love days off!

Cupcakes for School

Brett officially started celebrating his 8th birthday by bringing cupcakes to share with his class.

President Cavanaugh

Brett was voted President of Mrs. Hagel's second grade class. He won even with his conservative platform!
From the mouth of Brett:
~Will have school Monday through Friday
~Would take wrestling buildings and use for the poor.
~Will enlarge courtyard to the size of the school.
~Would build more libraries.
~Will give poor people money.
~Will have Halloween once a year.
~Will have a McDonalds store in the school and will have McDonalds food for lunch sometimes.
~Care about the environment.
