School Picture Day

Today is school picture day.
For the first time in Jake's life he did not cry and throw a fit when he had to put on a polo.  He does however have a shirt on under his polo so he can rip it off as soon as his picture is taken.
He also contemplated putting on shorts under his jeans.
Brett had his school picture taken before school started.  He had his polo off as soon as the flash went off.  When he started to take his jeans off because he had shorts underneath I drew the line and said maybe the new kid does not need to be seen ripping his jeans off.
Little Miss only cried once when she looked in the mirror and decided she did not like the buttons on her shirt.  I said seriously....we spent 20 minutes ironing that shirt last night....ironing is her new love.  She is for sure related to her MiMi.  She wiped the tears and we made a deal if she left her shirt on she could iron again tonight.
I call school picture day a success!

1st Day of School 2013

Brett's First Day of 7th Grade.
In a new state
and new school.
When I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up he claims he does not know.  So I will venture to say that if his nerves were not getting the best of him at 6:30 am he would pick to work for Mojang.
Jake's 1st Day of 3rd Grade.
In a new state and new school.
He says he wants to be an orthodontist when he grows up.
Brylee's 1st Day of 1st Grade.
In a new state and new school.
She says she wants to be a baby doctor when she grows up.
Jake promised to take care of his sister and walk her to her room.
At the last minute Brylee decided to be brave and ride the bus.

Happy First Day of School.
I miss them already!

A Little Home Tour

August 14th after the moving truck drove off and I wiped my good-bye tears we met my Mom in MN.  She and the kids opted for a slumber party in the empty MN house.  Bryan and I headed to the Holiday Inn.
The next morning the moving truck arrived.
The kids were in charge of folding 20 million pieces of packing paper.  That lasted about 10 minutes.
By nights end we were up to our eyeballs in boxes and paper.
Bryan, my mom and I all put in 18 hours on the first day.
On the 5th day we tackled our shopping list and grabbed lunch because we were done!!!
In 4 days between the three of us we worked 150 hours!
I want to pinch myself that it is done.  Last time we moved I unpacked all the boxes myself and it took three months.
THANK YOU Mom for coming to help!

We decided to rent not knowing how long this adventure will be.
Now for a little tour of our rental home.....
Walking in the front door.
Turn the corner and you head toward the living room.
