Soccer Star

On a brisk, chilly 30 degree night we bundled up and drove to the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin for Jake's soccer game.
Jake has never played soccer...well unless you count the Parent-Child soccer class when he was a tiny tot.
He loves all sports and thought he would give it a try because Brett is playing this year.
Oh yea!  That was Jake's 1st goal!!!
The look on his face was priceless.
He has decided soccer is pretty cool.
He shoots...He scores!
My #12
Go Jake!

The Color of Music

This picture pretty much sums up how excited Brylee was about her Kindergarden Music Program.
When one tells her to wear her best clothes she takes it serious.  After a fashion show for her Daddy they picked the butterfly skirt and her highest heels.
We stayed up late painting nails and putting curlers in her hair to sleep in.
She was up at the crack of dawn to get ready.
Brett and I went to the afternoon and evening performances.
Almost showtime!
She did a good job keeping those around her quiet and telling them when their parts were.

And for your viewing pleasure.....
Brylee practicing her songs.

ACT

Brett was asked to take an ACT so the school can measure where his ceiling is.
I woke my 6th grader from a slumber early on a Saturday morning.
I read the front of the page several times to make sure I had the time, date and location correct.
And off we went!
We were getting out of the car and Brett was reading the back of the page that lists everything he needs.
Seriously he is the smart one not me.
Of course he needs pencils, a calculator and a snack!!!
He is already a little nervous walking into the High School.
I tell him it will be okay.
We walk by the endless line of sleepy high schoolers and find a nice lady and tell her our predicament.
She tracked down some pencils and a calculator for the poor boy and off he went.
Bryan brought up a snack for Brett.
Brett says the math was kinda of hard but the rest easy.
We shall see!
I told him it doesn't matter one bit what his score is.
Actually I don't think I will share his test score with him.
I love my Smarty Pants!

Easter 2013

Easter goodies from Grandma Sue
She sent some peeps that of course had to be blown up in the microwave.
Easter Morning...
brought....
Easter baskets full of loot.
MiMi had a special egg with $20 for each kiddo.
Brylee and Jake raced...
to hunt all the eggs.  Brett got old on me and decided he was not going to hunt eggs :(
We went to church Saturday night so we spent the morning making a huge mess with shaving cream and food color dying eggs.

Brylee put on her Easter best....
and we joined the boys outside for a freezing cold, good time!
Brylee kept warm by jump roping.
Dying Easter eggs and eating chocolate bunnies is fun but we don't forget what Easter is about.
John 11:25-26Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.

Awana 2012-2013

Another Awana year has come and gone.
This was our 8th year.
These 3 kids have sooooo many bible verses that are hidden in their hearts forever.
I spent this year with a wild and crazy bunch of wonderful Kindergarden girls!!
Brylee finished her 1st year Spark book.
Jacob finished his 3rd and last Spark book.
and
Brett finished his 4th T&T book and received his Timothy award.
Brett went above and beyond this year.  At First Free they move the 6th grade kids up to Youth Group.  Which means most kids do not work on their own to finish that last book and get their Timothy Award.  Go Brett!!!
Each year we squeeze as many friends as we can in the van.
This year we picked up our neighbors Anmol, Amon and Jess.  We squeezed them in the van and off we went every Wednesday night.
Little Jess moved here from India and had very limited English when Awana started.
Not anymore!  She is a sponge and can now speak English proficenlty.
She melts my heart when she says.
"Jesus loves me!"
Aman and Anmol have lived in America for serveral years now.
Anmol accepted Jesus in her heart this year at Awana.  My heart soars for this girl!
She will always have a special place in my heart.
